Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Monday that the Senate's version of a health care reform bill will include a so-called public option. Moveon.org issued its e-mail to its supporters threatening revolt one day later.
This doesn't surprise me at all. I figure that this would happen.

With the bulk of the $787 billion stimulus package still unspent, some lawmakers say, President Obama should not be adding yet another $13 billion to the deficit by funding a one-time $250 Social Security payment.
The complaints are coming from Republicans, who see last February's recovery act as a fiscal blunder that has failed to stem rising unemployment. In some cases, such as the Social Security checks, they see the pot of money still waiting to be spent as a way to head off additional deficit spending in other areas.
I can tell you from personal experience that the stimulus package did nothing for me. I'm still unemployed and am looking for something during the holidays.

Data compiled by the organizations show that senators attached 778 earmarks worth nearly $2.7 billion to the 2010 defense appropriations bill.
With the economy the way it is and the earmarks already added to other bills such as the stimulus package, Congress has the nerve to seek more and more money for their districts. I guess they are afraid that their voters will not re-elect them after pushing through the current health care reform.
Republicans don't have to worry too much during the next elections. The Democrats are doing a great job in killing their party.

Nothing brings a smile to an adult's face quicker than the sight of a happy, chubby baby.
But the sight of 4-month-old Alex Lange, who measures 25-inches long and weighs 17 pounds, is bringing a frown to the hypothetical face of insurance company Rocky Mountain Health Plans, The Denver Post reported on its Web site Monday.
The biggest issue is the fact that health insurance companies will not even try to cover people. They want to insure only those who are in perfect health so they can collect the premiums. Health insurance companies push and will continue to push people with pre-existing conditions to state high-risk pools. The premiums in those programs are higher than the highest premiums of the health insurance companies.
I still believe that tort reform is needed in a major way when it comes to medical lawsuits. If the doctor or hospital has done something criminally wrong, then I say throw the book at them. But, if the doctor and hospital have done everything humanly possible, then we don't sue. Doctors and hospitals can only do so much. There are 2 rules in medicine.
1. People die.
2. Doctors, no matter how hard they try or what they do, can't change rule #1.

"The jury is still out as to what his presidency is going to add up to," Fred Greenstein, author and professor of politics emeritus at Princeton University, told FOXNews.com.
CNN's own polls show that 57% of those polled believe that President Obama should not have received the prize. He took office 2 weeks prior to the deadline to submit candidates.
Honestly, what has he done to deserve this award? I know I will receive a lot of emails for my comments. But, I honestly ask you to provide me with a list of achievements has he done to merit this prestigious award.

WASHINGTON -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger praised President Barack Obama's drive to overhaul the nation's health care system on Tuesday and urged fellow Republicans to join in efforts to finish the job this year.
The new Republican support for Obama's top domestic priority came as a potential setback emerged for Senate health legislation: Congressional tax experts reported that the bill would impose $29 billion more in taxes on health care industries than originally thought -- levies that could be passed on to consumers in the form of higher premiums.
By placing more taxes on corporations, the consumer will ultimately have to pay more for the goods and services that being taxed. When you get right down to it, you will either pay the government for health care or government via increased prices by corporations who are being taxed.
In either case, the government will get its money and the those in elected office can say without hesitation, "I didn't raise taxes on the consumers."

In an effort spearheaded by Republicans, the House and Senate voted earlier this month to sever ACORN's federal funding after a series of undercover videos showed some of the group's employees offering advice to a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute on how to skirt tax and immigration laws.
But some legal experts say that the provisions of the bills may be unconstitutional. And the House bill in particular, they say, risks alienating defense contractors, who are longtime allies of Republicans.
