Manhattan residents near Zuccotti Park, a privately-owned park, were expressing their frustrations during a Community Board 1 meeting. They are tired of the constant noise which includes cowbells at 4AM and drumming after 10PM every day. Residents are also reporting that people are defecating and urinating on their doorsteps. They are also concerned for the safety of their children. Each morning, residents of the area are insulted and harassed as they go to work.
Despite the complaints, the board members voted unanimously to allow the protesters to stay, but asked that there be a crackdown on the noise, public urination and defecation and harassment.
